Michelle Button is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of LCSW Counseling & Psychotherapy. Through personal experience and professional training, her passion and focus is in working with women and families.
Michelle received her Masters of Social Work (MSW) degree from New York University in 1998 went on to complete an Advanced Postgraduate Clinical Certificate also at New York University. She has received post graduate training in Interpersonal Psychotherapy from the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy (ICP) in New York City and has been in private practice for over 9 years. In addition, Michelle has had extensive clinical training in the treatment of perinatal mood disorders, including completion of the Postgraduate Postpartum Depression Training Program through the Postpartum Stress Center in Philadelphia.
A community advocate, Michelle is a member of the Suffolk County Perinatal Coalition's Mood Disorders Task Force and volunteers her time with the March of Dimes. Michelle is an active professional member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASAM), Postpartum Support International (PSI), The Postpartum Resource Center of New York, RESOLVE (The National Infertility Association), and the National Association for Social Workers (NASW).
